Hello fellow SCAdians!
After catching our breath from Pennsic and a couple of local events, including a wonderful River Wars, we are going to continue our series of informal talks and conversations which we began earlier this year.
These take place in West Philly, close to the U Penn campus, generally on the 2nd Sunday of every month from 1:00-3:00 pm. Our venue is the City Tap House (http://www.citytaphouseucity.com/)
In the next week or so, we’ll be announcing the line-up for the October event, along with which we will include direction by public transit and parking information. In the meantime this message has 2 aims:
1) We want to let you know that we are starting up again and that the upcoming dates (Oct. 12, Nov. 9, Dec. 7, and on into the spring) are all on the Ivyeinrust and Bhakail calendars, so you can put them straight into your calendars from there!
2) We also wanted to let people know that there are still spaces, even as early as the October meeting. If you have an idea for a talk, please do contact me, Brunissende Dragonette, or Livia Petralia and let us know. As I said, we are still looking for submissions for October, so we’d be glad t fit you in. You needn’t have a deep presentation. The format, for those who’ve not been able to make it is 10-15 minute talks with 15-20 minute Q&A discussions. Topics can be about anything that resides in the SCA umbrella, A&S, Martial, Medieval History, Society History and Customs, Administrative notes. Anything that you are passionate about, we are loking forward to hearing about!
Please drop us a note if you have any questions about dates, location, or, most especially if you want to give a talk at the upcoming talks!
All the best,
Bailiwick of Ivyeinrust
