Gentles!
June’s Tavern Talks in the Bailiwick were quite a pleasant gathering. Lord Reijnier Verplanck gave a fascinating talk on period styles of eyewear that talked a great deal about heir production, both in period and experimental reproduction. It was seriously cool and provoked lively discussion during and after. The meeting then became a very convivial discussion of many things including SCA policy, History, and Customs, all while partaking in the leftovers of Philly Beer Week!
We in the Bailiwick are really happy that people have so actively come out for this event. We are looking forward to the July edition on July 12th at 3pm at the City Tap House again. Livia Petralia will be organizing the July event, and we are still looking for speaker/contributors, so if you have a topic, please contact her at seneschal@ivyeinrust.eastkingdom.org . And if you have a topic that you are interested in presenting, but at some point in the Fall, please send those ideas along too, as we are compiling a calendar for the Fall already! You can e-mail any ideas you have to Aelfric FitzHugh (moas@ivyeinrust.eastkingdom.org), Livia Petralia (seneschal@ivyeinrust.eastkingdom.org), or Brunissende Dragonette (check yahoo group for address)., as we are all sharing in the organization of this event.
Await more info on the July meeting in the approach to the 12th.
All the best, and we hope to see you in July!
