History

The Bailiwick of Ivyeinrust was founded in 1981 and has a rich and interesting history. It is the only remaining canton in the SCA using the alternate title of “Bailiwick” instead of “Canton”. The name “Ivyeinrust” is derived from the words “University” and “Ivy” because many of its founding members were affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, one of the eight universities in the Ivy League.

It is the last remaining Bailiwick in the SCA.

The Bailiwick and the Barony are located in the Southern Region of the ancient and mighty Kingdom of the East, the second-oldest of the twenty kingdoms in the SCA. The Eastrealm stretches from Delaware in the south to Nova Scotia and Quebec in the north, rallying both English-speaking and Francophone SCAdians under the purple-and-gold banners of the East.
