Tavern Talks – May 11

Hail!

The Bailiwick of Ivyeinrust cordially invites all those interested in the Arts and the Sciences to the first in a monthly series of Tavern Talks. We will be gathering at the City Tap House in West Philadelphia for short talks and some friendly discussion over beverages and food.

At this first event we have a fabulous lineup: Baron Mael Eoin mac Echuid will discuss aspects of managing local group websites; Lady Xanthippe Ouranani will give us some orientation to the conception of science as a discipline in the Middle Ages; and Dame Brunissende Dragonette will present some aspects of recreating medieval soapmaking. We will be meeting at 3pm. Please ask for the SCA or for Tavern Talks.

City Tap House is on Walnut Street between 39th and 40th street in the heart of West Philadelphia, walking distance from University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, and University of the Sciences. Parking is available in the corner garage at Walnut and 40th, above the Fresh Grocer. Likewise the restaurant is within easy walking distance of the Market-Frankford line, trolleys, and the 21 and 42 bus lines.
