Something Fishy This Way Comes V (PAST EVENT)

Sat, Sep 15, 2001 Hosted by Bailiwick of Ivyeinrust – Philadelphia, PA

We have obtained historic Fort Mifflin, Fort Mifflin Rd., Philadelphia, PA (no street number) for a fifth year .  This is a fun and relaxed day featuring both of our traditional tournaments.  Lord of the Rivers will be a double elimination heavy weapons tournament and Rampart Riots, the rapier tournament, gives the fencers attending opportunities to test their skills on actual ramparts, gates and bridges.  Weapons inspection is scheduled for 11:00 AM.  Because the site is so close to Phila. International Airport we will have a “Count the Dragons” competition with a prize to the winner.  A hearty luncheon will be available 11:30.  Note, this is not an off board meal to all.  Please see fee structure below.

Because the site is open to the public the day will also double as a demo and we would also like to plan a day of A&S activities along the theme of period sea-faring.  These can include both displays and lectures.  The Fort has requested that we submit a formalized schedule of activities no later then August 1, 2001.  Those wishing to participate in this area should contact the Bailiwick’s A&S officer, Lady Tiphaine de Montaigne at 215-382-xxxx / tiphdmont@….  (No calls after 9:00 PM)

The luncheon on Saturday in memorial to Lord Harlequin Tomfoolery will be prepared by Lady Shannon Gallowglass and will be served at 11:30.  It will consist of cold roast beef, ham, hearty vegetable soup, breads, butters, cheeses and fresh fruits.  More than enough to fortify those participating in the day’s martial activities.  As the site has limited facilities, our alchemists have been hard at work developing disposable feast gear which will be provided.  Please be aware the site is bone dry.
